Salmon and peas...

I made salmon and peas tonight and I love it. My dad grew up eating salmon and peas and finally admitted to my mom when they were first married that he hated the dish. We never had it, since he hated it. Well, Dad sorry...I actually love it.
I took a Bumblebee pouch of salmon and added frozen peas to it and made a cream sauce with rice milk, corn starch, salt and pepper and onion powder. I simmered this mixture and then served it over rice. I wanted to invite my Dad over but knew he would only stick his nose up at it...lol

I scraped wallpaper today. It has only been 5 1/2 years in this house and putting up with dark brown wallpaper, the kind that is supposed to look like paneling. The room is small and it makes it look smaller, so scrape away I did today. Painting will be next...

I feel good...hope you do too.

I have always made tuna and peas, but never salmon and peas. I think I'll give that a try. I just made salmon salad the other day, instead of tuna salad. It was yum.

Oh, and just so you'll know, I am feeling a little better since I got me some herbs today.

Ohh, I remember salmon and peas! I think my mother put it over pastry shells (did we even have them back 50+ years ago?) And how 'bout Chicken a la King? Anyway, glad you found yet another yummy meal for yourself.

We had it on crackers when I grew up, as a Fourth of July supper (after the cook-out). Not sure why, but it seemed to be traditional.
